Job Summary
Move trailers to and from docks, secure loads, and handle freight manually or with equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. Start and set reefer units, check trucks in and out, and scan shipments using mobile devices. Manage BOL paperwork, keep logs of trailer movements, and organize shipping documents while adhering to safety policies. Schedule is Sun-Thu 7:00am-3:00pm, with potential rotation to cover vacations. Requires CDL, age 21+, and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- CDL
- Primary schedule Sun-Thur 7:00am-3:00pm
- Experience moving 53 foot trailers to and from loading docks utilizing a yard truck
- Ability to lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 70 lbs. occasionally)
- Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery
- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- Ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends as per company needs
- Ability to Sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including a pallet jack, forklift and by hand

- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
- Work in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies
- Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments
- Keep a log of all trailers moved to/from the bakery or storage locations

- Check and Organize shipping/receiving documents

- Occasionally Responsible for physical moving of freight into and out of trailers in a timely manner, by handling the freight manually, or using a forklift or hand truck
- Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight
- Handle BOLs for transfers being made from the bakery to offsite freezer
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
