Job Summary
Transport clients to and from various destinations using agency-provided wheelchair lift-equipped vans while adhering to defensive driving techniques and all applicable safety regulations. Provide passenger assistance during entry and exit, manage mobility impairments, and collect public fares following proper money handling procedures. Conduct daily pre-trip inspections, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and submit accurate daily schedules, mileage, and time records. Treat clients with dignity, maintain confidentiality, and assist other drivers as needed by central office.
Required Qualifications
- Class D with Endorsement F driver's license
- Must pass a pre-hire drug and alcohol test
- Must be subject to random drug/alcohol testing
- Must pass a DOT Physical
- Must submit a 10-year pre-hire DMV check
- Must submit to a DMV report on an annual basis
- Must pass a pre-hire functional ability screening
- Must submit to a pre-hire criminal background check
- Must be over 21 years of age
- Must be available for 5am to 9am morning shift
- Must work Monday through Friday
- Must be available for September 21, 2026 start date
- Must be willing to assist other drivers when needed by the central office
- Must be able to perform frequent stepping, stooping, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling and bending
- Must be able to provide assistance to clients with mobility impairments
- Must be able to transport clients in wheelchairs, scooters, or similar
- Must be able to follow correct procedures for transporting clients in wheelchairs, scooters, or similar
- Must be able to provide passenger assistance to clients while entering or exiting van
- Must be able to use defensive driving techniques
- Must be able to operate van in a timely and safe manner

- Must be able to attend driver trainings as required
