Job Summary
Operate a tanker vehicle to safely transport and deliver petroleum products to customer locations, including gas stations, commercial fleets, and job sites. Load and unload product using hoses and pumps while ensuring compliance with DOT and company procedures. Perform accurate pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, verify load documentation, and maintain required bills of lading and electronic logs. Respond to emergencies, urgent customer demands, and weekend or overnight assignments while adhering to HAZMAT protocols and all applicable safety and regulatory standards. Communicate with dispatch and customers in real-time to report delays or issues.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
- Clean MVR and driving record
- Must pass a DOT physical, background check, drug and alcohol screening, and driving test
- Physically able to climb ladders, lift hoses, and work outdoors in various weather conditions

- Must be able to respond to emergencies, urgent or unusual situations (spill/mix cleanups, fires, accidents, urgent customer demands, weekend, holiday, and overnight assignments)
- Must be able to remain calm in demanding situations
- Must be personally well-groomed and uniformed
- Must be knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous to customers and suppliers
- Must be able to safely transport and deliver petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, etc.) to customer locations including gas stations, commercial fleets, and job sites
- Must be able to load and unload product using hoses and pumps, ensuring compliance with DOT and company procedures
- Must be able to perform accurate pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking tank integrity, seals, valves, and gauges
- Must be able to verify load documentation matches product type and quantity; follow proper procedures for splitting or delivering multiple grades of fuel
- Must be able to handle and maintain bills of lading, delivery tickets, and electronic logs as required by DOT regulations and company policy
- Must be able to follow all applicable safety rules and procedures, including HAZMAT protocols and emergency response guidelines
- Must be able to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation laws, including DOT regulations for hours of service and load securement
- Must be able to communicate with dispatch and customers in real-time to report delays, issues, or delivery concerns
- Must be able to act in accordance with the company's code of ethics and mission statement
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating fuel tankers or similar vehicles
