Read bills of lading to determine assignment details and inspect loads to ensure cargo is secure, notifying warehouse if rebuilding is required. Secure cargo using chains, binders, or tarps, and maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions following crew signals. Operate equipment including truck cab computers, CB radios, GPS, forklifts, and overhead cranes to exchange information and load/unload trucks. Check all load-related documentation, couple or uncouple trailers, and report vehicle defects, accidents, or damage. Maintain logs of working hours or vehicle service status and perform basic maintenance tasks like adding oil or fuel. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required. Minimum of 2 years Class A experience with 2 years flatbed experience required; no major moving violations in the last 2 years.
