Job Summary
The Driver Training Center Coordinator is responsible for designing, executing, and managing training programs to ensure the safety and compliance of transportation operations. Key responsibilities include developing training materials in line with USDOT regulations, overseeing training delivery, conducting audits for compliance, and providing coaching and mentoring to employees. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of transportation safety principles. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to foster a culture of safety and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid Hawaii Commercial Class B driver's license with air brakes, passenger, and student endorsements
- Must enroll in the Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program (PTSCP) and complete courses within three years
- Satisfactory driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation, or a related field
- Four (4) years of verifiable, full-time professional training and safety experience, preferably in the transportation industry
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of USDOT regulations and requirements for passenger vehicle transportation
- Exhibit strong leadership and management capabilities
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and training software and tools
- Ability to create training material for both in-person and virtual instruction
