Job Summary
The Driver Trainer role focuses on safety education and driver training across DOT standards to prepare drivers and aides for CDL-B with Passenger Endorsement and S endorsement, including classroom and field instruction, development of training materials, testing, and reporting on training activities. Responsibilities include delivering safety training, defensive driving, CPR/AED/First Aid, Road Evaluations, field observations, and coordinating with multiple departments while meeting regulatory requirements. The position requires CDL-B (or higher) with P and S endorsements within three months, ability to conduct training across multiple island locations, and strong computer skills for reporting and presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess valid CDL “B” or higher with a “P” endorsement and be qualified to obtain an “S” endorsement
- Must obtain CDL B with P and S Endorsements within 3 months of hire
- Meets physical requirements to pass DOT physical
- 4-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of safety regulations and DOT standards
- Ability to train and coach large groups
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Email
