Job Summary
Driver Trainee trains side-by-side with drivers to gain CDL experience and become a CDL driver, handling servicing of assigned route(s) for waste or recycling, operating a truck safely, and maintaining route logs. Training includes classroom and field instruction toward obtaining a CDL license; duties include assisting on daily routes, entering/exiting the truck 300-500 times per day, performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections, interacting professionally with customers, and complying with local, state, and federal regulations. Physical requirements include lifting up to 75 lbs, outdoor work in various conditions, and the need to obtain a DOT medical card, Class B permit, and Class B CDL within specified timelines. Additional requirements include being at least 19 years old, maintaining good driving history, and being legally eligible to work in the United States. The role is on-site in Lima, OH.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card within 10 days of employment
- Must be able to obtain class B CDL permit within 60 days of employment
- Must be able to obtain a class B CDL within 90 days of employment
- Must be at least 19 years old
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
- Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
- Must be able to read and speak the English language
