Job Summary
Driver Trainee will be trained by Republic Services to obtain a CDL and eventually assume a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off lines. The program includes classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and a loaned truck to take and pass the CDL exam. After CDL attainment, the incumbent will perform Driver duties in one of the company’s lines of business and complete a 12-month employment period post-CDL. Responsibilities include performing complete pre- and post-operation inspections, reporting safety issues, operating heavy/commercial trucks along assigned routes, loading refuse, tagging unsatisfactory waste containers, monitoring waste quality, and adhering to safety policies. The role emphasizes learning, safety compliance, route navigation, and ongoing vehicle readiness, with comprehensive benefits and equal opportunity employment. This position requires becoming CDL-certified through the company’s training program.
Required Qualifications
