Driver Trainee

Driver Trainee will be trained through Republic Services to obtain a CDL and then assume a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off lines. The program includes classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and access to a loaned truck to take the CDL examination. After CDL completion, the incumbent will perform Driver duties and complete twelve months of employment in the company. Responsibilities include performing pre- and post-operation inspections, reporting safety issues, safely operating a heavy/ commercial truck on designated routes to service customers, reading route sheets, following maps, and complying with safety policies. The role emphasizes learning to lift and load refuse, operate a packer, identify unsatisfactory waste containers, monitor waste quality, and maintain vehicle readiness to minimize downtime. After obtaining CDL, perform all Driver responsibilities in one of the company’s lines of business and participate in ongoing duties as assigned.
