Job Summary
Driver trainee role at Gordon Food Service focused on safe, on-time delivery of products and positive customer interactions. Responsibilities include completing driver training per Title 49 CFR 380 Subpart F, operating GFS equipment (tractor-trailer, refrigerated van) safely, conducting pre/post-trip inspections, maintaining accurate paperwork and customer payments, reporting customer concerns, and collaborating with management and sales to address issues. Requires CLP and pursuit of Class A CDL, strong communication, punctuality, problem solving, attention to detail, and adherence to safety/compliance standards. Location: Cincinnati, OH; travel within service area to deliver to customers; equip with on-board computer and handheld scanner; assist in maintaining customer relationships and safe handling of products.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)
- Aspiring to obtain Class A CDL or upgrade Class B CDL to Class A
- Ability to pass physical ability test
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to operate GFS tractor/trailer and related equipment
- Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 350 pounds with equipment
