Job Summary
Driver position at The Salvation Army, Apache Junction, AZ (Part-Time/Non-Exempt). Responsibilities include picking up food from various locations, submitting receipts and Vehicle Inspection Logs, unloading and weighing donated food, recording dates, rotating stock, cleaning the truck and equipment, assisting volunteers, and performing additional driving and seasonal duties as assigned. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 21+ with a valid Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record, ability to obtain/maintain the Driver’s Test Certification, background check clearance, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, Food Handlers certificate within 30 days, and the ability to operate and follow safety procedures for driving a box truck. Strong service-minded, independent work ethic, and ability to follow policy guidelines are needed. On-site role with potential holiday-season duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be 21 years or older with a valid Arizona Driver's License and have a clean driving record
- Ability to maintain Salvation Army Driver's Test Certification
- Must be a service minded team player with the ability to work independently and show initiative
- Required to successful pass a criminal background check
- Must have or obtain a Food Handlers certificate within 30 days of employment
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must pass The Salvation Army’s online fleet driving test
- Understand and carry out instructions related to the use of equipment and use it in a safe manner
- Ability to work within established policy guidelines and accept directions and follow instruction
- Ability to drive a box truck
- PHSYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: lift up to 75 pounds
- Walk/stand/climb/bend/reach
- Stable work ethic and reliability
- Ability to operate computer for reports/records
