Driver Supervisor

Job Summary

Manage assigned drivers by ensuring DOT compliance, CTPAT adherence, and equipment usage while enforcing company policies and discipline. Coordinate driver training, administer Hours of Service and log reviews, and monitor KPIs and productivity goals. Conduct regular ride-alongs to capture performance data on safety, routes, and customer service. Assist in incident investigations, maintain Driver Qualification Files, and complete department forms. Administer attendance records, coordinate time-off requests, and participate in hiring processes with Human Resources. Manage performance review systems and submit payroll for assigned drivers. Supervise truck drivers by training, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving complaints.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field
  • Associates Degree
  • Three to five years experience in management
  • Five years transportation experience
  • Experience in dispatch
  • Experience in tractor fleet maintenance
  • CDL Driving
  • transportation safety
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • good communication skills both written and oral
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • excellent personal computer skills
  • working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Extensive knowledge in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and CTPAT
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively using the telephone, Fax, E-mail etc.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Class A CDL
  • no more than 2 points on MVR
  • Occasional travel

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in TMW and Peoplenet or similar
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas is required: dispatch, tractor fleet maintenance, CDL Driving, and/or transportation safety
