Job Summary
Provide door-through-door transportation for older adults, people with disabilities, and others with mobility challenges, assisting passengers from inside their homes to the vehicle and back to their destinations. Accompany riders to medical appointments, social outings, grocery shopping, and senior centers while adhering to strict safety and compliance standards. Maintain a clean, odor-free 4-door sedan or low SUV from 2014 or newer, ensuring all vehicles pass state inspections and meet insurance requirements. Pass mandatory drug and alcohol tests, criminal background checks, and fingerprinting, holding a valid U.S. driver's license with a clean record for at least three years.
Required Qualifications
- Age 21 or older
- A valid U.S. driver's license for a MINIMUM of 3 years with a clean driving record
- No DUI/DWI
- No more than 2 moving violation in the past 2 years
- Pass Federal Transit Authority and state drug and alcohol tests
- Agree to random testing while active in SilverRide's driver network
- Willingness to be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check
- No felonies or charges involving violence
- Not on the National Sex Offender Registry
- Meet SilverRide's credentialing requirements related to the knowledge and proficiency on the senior condition, ADA, physical transfers, safety and more
- Willingness to take passengers with service animals
- 4-door sedan or low SUV that is 2014 or newer with 5 to 8 passenger seats including driver
- Current, valid vehicle registration
- Proof of insurance in your name
- Vehicle will have to pass an inspection as required by your state
- Vehicles need to be clean and not have any smell of smoke or drugs (marijuana)
