Driver's License Examiner I

Driver’s License Examiner I conducts driver’s license interviews, examinations (visual, written, and road), and inspections to determine eligibility for licenses or state IDs. Responsibilities include reviewing documents, determining eligibility and type of license, advising on disqualifications and waiver procedures, conducting in-depth vehicle safety inspections, administering vision, written, pre-trip and skills tests, maintaining driver records, and providing information to law enforcement and the public. The role may involve cross-training in other sections, travel as needed, and working in storefront settings with potential early/late shifts and weekend work. Education/experience requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination for Level I, with additional qualifications for Level II and Lead, and a valid Oklahoma driver license; emphasis on knowledge of state/federal driving laws, vehicle types, and testing procedures.
