Job Summary
Load, transport, and unload residents for medical appointments and activity outings while assisting with on-boarding and off-boarding. Complete pre-inspections of the vehicle, clean the van daily and weekly, and monitor regular maintenance including oil changes and tire rotations. Provide customer service with all passengers and lead evacuations during emergencies. Maintain a valid, unrestricted Colorado driver's license and CNA certification. Work beyond normal hours, weekends, and during emergency conditions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- CNA License
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must be insurable by the company
- Must possess CNA certification
- Must maintain a valid, unrestricted Colorado driver's license
- Must have active CNA License in the state of Colorado
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move intermittently during working hours
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs floor to waist, lift 10 lbs waist to shoulder, lift and carry 50 lbs, and push/pull 50 lbs
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents
- Must be able to lead, transport, and unload residents
- Must be able to communicate and function in and interdisciplinary team
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent people skills and organizational skills
- Must be well groomed (i.e., no unruly beards, no visible facial rings / piercings, tattoos)
- Must be available for weekends, when necessary
- Must be available for call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
- Must be able to work beyond normal duty hours
- Must be able to handle exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses
- Must be able to handle exposure to hazardous chemicals
- Must be able to handle reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants
- Must be able to handle injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc.
- Must be able to handle exposure to residents, associates, and staff under all conditions and circumstances
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in healthcare or geriatrics preferred but not necessary
