Job Summary
Operate heavy-duty trucks with front, side, or rear-end load lift attachments to transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities. Navigate high-traffic roadways, congested driveways, alleyways, and lots while performing highly skilled backing maneuvers for residential, commercial, or roll-off routes. Perform pre and post-trip inspections, document checks using the DVIR, and completely dump receptacles leaving customer locations clean. Immediately report unsafe situations, service interruptions, or incidents to Operations Manager or Dispatch. Follow route assignments, complete end-of-day documentation, and attend all scheduled training programs. This safety-sensitive role requires strict compliance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL
- 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
- Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
- Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air-brake endorsement
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with an air-brake endorsement
- This role is designated as safety sensitive and will require the successful candidate to strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols
- As part of the ongoing employment requirements, the successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing—including pre‐employment screening, post‐incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing—in accordance with government regulations and company policies
