Job Summary
Recruit, interview, and screen DOT certified driver applicants while maintaining knowledge of transportation laws and company safety goals. Gather and analyze application data to pre-qualify candidates, then coordinate their onboarding, orientation, and training to ensure proper policy adherence. Conduct pre-qualification Ride-Alongs to capture performance and safety data, while monitoring the entire applicant flow from initial meetings through training completion. Report hiring trends to management and ensure all Driver Qualification Files and departmental forms are completed timely. Requires a current CDL, five years as a DOT driver, and experience with Peoplenet or similar systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field
- Associates Degree
- recruitment experience
- Five years experience as a DOT certified driver
- current CDL
- strong interpersonal skills
- good communication skills both written and oral
- ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- excellent personal computer skills
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Extensive knowledge in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and CTPAT
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field
- combination of Associates Degree and Experience
- Two to five years recruitment experience
- Experience in TMW and Peoplenet or similar
