Job Summary
Manage the recruiting process from initial candidate engagement through conditional job offers, including reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and extending offers using established hiring standards. Monitor candidates to ensure timely onboarding, audit hiring activity for DOT and FMCSA compliance, and educate prospective drivers on career opportunities and benefits. Build relationships with drivers and partner with hiring managers and Driver Operations to meet staffing goals, while attending recruiting events and job fairs to attract qualified candidates. This on-site role at the Groendyke terminal requires primarily computer and telephone work with occasional travel to events.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of high-volume recruiting or staffing experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to build rapport, influence decisions, and effectively engage candidates throughout the hiring process
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Customer-focused mindset with strong follow-through
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience recruiting CDL drivers
- Transportation, trucking, or tanker industry experience
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Experience with Tenstreet, Workday, and Smartsheet
- This is an on-site position based at a Groendyke terminal location
- The role involves primarily computer and telephone work, extended periods of sitting, occasional walking, and frequent communication with candidates, hiring managers, Driver Operations, and other business partners
- Occasional travel to recruiting events, company meetings, or other company locations may be required
