Job Summary
Proactively recruit, screen, and hire qualified drivers for approved geographic regions in accordance with DOT regulations and company guidelines. Obtain driver leads from various sources, answer inquiries, and build rapport with potential candidates. Guide applicants through the screening process to determine eligibility, execute conditional offers or denials, and maintain the applicant database. Schedule orientation start dates and provide sourcing reports as requested. Sell Cowan Systems as a positive first contact by accurately expressing the opportunities and benefits of driving for the company.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent experience
- Strong telephone etiquette and skills
- Good organizational, multi-tasking skills
- Microsoft office skills-Intermediate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate and establish credibility with driver candidates as well as hiring management
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective interpersonal communication skills- oral and written
- Must be able to effectively and accurately complete work with a sense of urgency
- Possess effective organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple candidates/applications at same time
- Must be self-motivated, able and willing to work independently and get results
- Proficiency in various computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Willingness and ability to learn new software programs
Desired Qualifications
- 2-4 years of relevant responsibilities for recruiting and/or sales is preferred
- Experience in driver recruiting for the transportation industry will be highly regarded but not considered a prerequisite
