Job Summary
Manage full-cycle recruitment for Class 1/CDL drivers, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates while maintaining a strong pipeline through job boards, referrals, and networking. Verify driver qualifications, licenses, background information, and required hiring documentation. Conduct driver orientations, road evaluations, safety training, and ongoing coaching programs. Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT/FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and transportation safety standards. Investigate accidents, incidents, and injuries, completing required reports and recommending corrective actions. Perform safety inspections and support accident prevention, driver engagement, and safety awareness initiatives. Facilitate regular safety meetings and promote a culture of safety, compliance, and driver welfare. Work closely with Operations, Safety, and Compliance teams to support terminal performance and driver retention.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in transportation safety, driver training, recruitment, or compliance
- Experience recruiting drivers across Canada and the United States
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, Hours of Service (HOS), driver qualification files, and transportation compliance standards
- Solid understanding of the trucking and logistics industry
- Experience conducting driver orientations, road evaluations, and safety training programs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety excellence
