Job Summary
Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain mobility buses, and escort members door-to-door in all weather conditions. Assist with on- and off-boarding, ensuring members are securely fastened during transport to and from centers, medical appointments, and field trips. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and accurate records for routes, mileage, and fuel while reporting mechanical or safety concerns immediately. Communicate positively with members, families, and staff, and help implement operational efficiencies to enhance the member experience. This part-time, per-diem role offers hourly pay between $20.25 and $22.25 for drivers serving seniors and adults with special needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Valid driver's license and state/vehicle-specific driver credentials
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Able to push, pull, bend, turn, pivot, transfer and lift up to 50 pounds; able to routinely and repeatedly exit and enter the vehicle to assist members with on- and off-boarding
- Able to pass required physical exams including Department of Transportation (DOT) exam
- Successful results of background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing and any other state-specific requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working as a driver preferred but not required
- Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred
- Knowledge of local geographic area preferred
