Job Summary
Operate a garbage truck on municipal streets, alleyways, highways, and customer sites to collect solid waste while reading route sheets and servicing assigned customers. Perform pre and post trip inspections of truck components and safely lift objects up to 50 lbs. Requires a valid Class A or B CDL license, current DOT medical certificate, and minimum two years of commercial driving experience. Full-time, year-round Monday through Friday schedule with occasional Saturday availability, approximately 50-60 hours weekly, with drivers home every evening. Includes on-the-job training and access to health, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL license with a current DOT valid medical certificate
- Minimum of 2 years of previous commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift objects to shoulder height weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to operate lever hand controls for hydraulic machinery
- Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre and post trip inspections
- Monday-Friday schedule (Occasional Saturday as needed)
- Home every evening
- Approximately 50-60 hour work week
- Weekend availability
