Job Summary
Provides and directs fast, efficient Basic Life Support to the ill and injured utilizing all basic life-support abilities and techniques, including airway adjuncts, supraglottic airways, and AED use including defibrillation; recognizes and understands medical emergencies and performs differential diagnosis; transports the ill and injured to institutions of medical care; files standardized reports of patient information and care; maintains communication with physicians; operates emergency vehicles safely; directs the work of other personnel and volunteers at the scene; maintains equipment and participates in continuing education to maintain annual state certification; and performs related duties as assigned. Requires EMR licensure, CPR for the Health Care Provider, and Emergency Driving Certification with ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- EMR Licensure
- CPR for the Health Care Provider
- Emergency Driving Certification with ongoing driving training
- Good knowledge of the street systems, addresses and physical layout of the area, and of the rescue equipment and the emergency medical equipment used in Basic Life Support.
