Job Summary
Deliver meals and holiday packages to homebound elderly clients in Queens by picking up food from the cooler and following a predetermined route. Meet clients face-to-face, remind them to refrigerate meals if not consumed immediately, and report any observable client changes or delivery issues to the program office. Maintain daily gasoline and mileage records, return the vehicle to the parking place, and operate a 2-way radio in the agency vehicle. This role requires a valid New York State Driver's License, defensive driving certificate, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while operating a vehicle for long periods.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State Driver's License (Class D)
- Must present abstract of driving record annually
- Ability to drive vehicle for long periods of time
- Ability to get in and out of vehicle frequently
- Must obtain defensive driving certificate within 6 months of employment
- Able to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds
