Job Summary
Assist with food distribution, pick up and unload deliveries from retail rescue and North Country Food, and drive the box truck following all safety protocols. Separate and sort inventory by product type, stock freezer, cooler, and pastry areas with fresh items, and perform daily sorting, stocking, and cleaning to ensure compliance with policies. Complete inventory control, handle emergency upkeep requests, remove exterior garbage, and clean all building areas. Open, prepare, and close the pantry as appropriate while maintaining safety for staff, volunteers, and community members. Maintain current driver's license, forklift and pallet jack certifications, and valid vehicle insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Box truck driving experience
- High School diploma/GED
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Capacity to take direction and work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow directions for various community pick up's with box truck
- Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 30 pounds
- Maintain current licensing
- Follow all food safety requirements
- Maintain current Driver's License
- Show proof of valid vehicle insurance
- Excellent customer service

- Knowledge of and sensitivity to individual struggles with homelessness, poverty, substance abuse, mental illness, and criminal records

Desired Qualifications
- Forklift and Pallet Jack experience
- Applicable experience preferably in social service setting with people in crisis
