Job Summary
Conduct daily vehicle and trailer inspections prior to driving to ensure equipment safety and integrity. Review shipment records, manifests, container labeling, and vehicle placards before transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials from customer sites to designated locations. Maintain current transportation permits, driver log books, and insurance cards while adhering to all DOT, EPA, and local regulations. Consult with customers regarding load conditions or paperwork inconsistencies to ensure proper transport. Notify supervisors immediately of any moving violations or accidents. Assist with loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment and perform required housekeeping tasks. Valid Class A CDL with Tankers and Hazmat endorsements required. $25 to $28 hourly with $5,000 sign-on bonus. Home every Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Must be okay with being clean-shaven
- Will be home every Friday
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
- Prior commercial driving experience
- Familiarity with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Strong team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong customer service orientation
- Valid Class A Commercial Driving License (CDL)
- Tankers and Hazmat (H) endorsement
