Job Summary
Conduct safe vehicle operations transporting participants from homes to Day Health Centers and community appointments, including proper wheelchair tie-downs and lift usage. Perform pre-trip inspections, ensure passenger safety via seatbelts and body mechanics, and deliver meals and supplies as scheduled. Support care plans by assisting with transfers, making observations, and reporting to the team. Maintain vehicle safety and mechanical awareness while exercising mature judgment when working with frail elderly individuals.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed California Driver with good driving record
- Ability to operate all vehicles of On Lok
- some mechanical ability
- understand the maintenance program for vehicles
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Understands and carries out oral and written directions
- Familiarity with traffic routes and driving regulations
Desired Qualifications
- One-year experience working with the frail or elderly population preferred
- Bilingual English/ Spanish or Cantonese/ English preferred
