Job Summary
Operate and drive various equipment including bucket trucks, split dumps, flatbeds, and loaders to haul heavy equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and stump grinders to multi-state job locations. Assist tree climbers by dragging brush, feeding wood into chippers, and cleaning debris while maintaining trucks and chippers per DOT specifications. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, manage driver logs, and adhere to federal regulations and dispatching processes. Drive day or night in diverse climates and road conditions, working alone or under supervision. Must pass a road test, hold a current CDL, and qualify for the DOT Driver program.
Required Qualifications
- Pass road test
- Current Driver License (CDL)
- Qualify for DOT Driver program
- Ability to complete all mileage forms and DOT logs in a legible manner
- Knowledge of what to do in case of an accident and the reporting thereof
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, and to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records
- Pass DOT physical and drug and alcohol screenings
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to crouch, stoop, and kneel regularly
- Ability to walk regularly on sloping, uneven ground
- Ability to push occasionally (approximately 33% of time)
- Ability to pull regularly (approximately 66% of time)
