Job Summary
Drive and monitor developmentally disabled individuals from residence to day program sites, ensuring safe and dignified transportation while adhering to all DDS, Venture, and MART regulations. Operate Venture vehicles, perform pre-use inspections and routine fueling, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Assist individuals with entering and exiting vehicles, securing seat belts, and offer physical assistance within five feet of the van. Submit Incident Reports within 24 hours for individual communications and notify the Transportation Director immediately of any safety impediments. Arrive at residences within five minutes of scheduled times and maintain consistent communication with staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or G.E.D.
- Must be 21+ years old
- daily use of a vehicle on site
- be available by telephone for daily contact
- Must have valid Class D License
- minimum of three years driving experience
- Must obtain a 1 or 2 year DOT physical certification prior to the commencement of employment
- maintain DOT certification
- Must pass acceptable annual CORI and 10 year driving record checks
- Must have current CPR Certification and First Aid Certification
- obtain certification prior to working with the individuals
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds up to 150 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift
- Ability to handle job related documentation
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Must wear Venture supplied uniform while on shift
- Maintain confidentiality
- Maintain positive demeanor
- successfully juggling multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English language
- Ability to communicate clearly with peers and Direct Support Professional's
