Job Summary
Deliver refined fuel and propane products to established customers by assigned routes while operating and maintaining the truck safely. Perform service work including tank set, tank painting, and plant maintenance as directed. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, properly use handheld systems for accurate deliveries, and inspect customer installations. Identify and communicate issues related to safety, efficiency, training, and customer needs to management. Maintain all required certifications, keep the truck neat and clean, and present a positive image of the company. Work a rotating on-call schedule including holidays, weekends, and after hours. Maintain a valid driver's license and obtain a Class A or B CDL with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
- Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served
- Valid driver's license
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements per the vehicle requirements
- Ability to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employment
- Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions
- Ability to move equipment and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift
- Ability to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders to deliver fuel
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
- Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors
- Ability to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company customers in English
- Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, including handheld delivery tracking device
- Ability to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Availability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as needed
- Reliable transportation to work
- Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road test
