Job Summary
Driver responsible for delivering refined fuel and propane to assigned local routes, performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections, safely operating and maintaining trucks, and performing service work (tank set, tank painting, plant maintenance) as directed. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, ability to obtain CDL with tanker/HAZMAT/air brake endorsements within 90 days, pass DOT requirements and MFA road test, and be able to work in varying weather with physical stamina. Will operate handheld delivery tracking devices, ensure safe connections at customer facilities, maintain certifications, and support company policies. Responsibilities include loading at terminals, safe hose connections, timely issue reporting, and presenting a professional image to customers. Preferred skills include independent and team work, communication, customer service, and sales abilities. Positions are regular full-time in Missouri with rotating on-call, holidays, weekends, and potential on-site requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
- Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
- Ability to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employment
- Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions
- Ability to move equipment and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift
- Ability to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders to deliver fuel
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
- Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors
- Ability to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company customers in English
- Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, including handheld delivery tracking device
- Ability to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Availability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as needed
- Reliable transportation to work
- Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road test
