Job Summary
Manage and direct an assigned group of drivers and contractors by fostering proactive communication to facilitate company objectives. Conduct interviews to align job duties and expectations, approve and review driver pay for accuracy, and ensure pay thresholds are met. Review safety analytics, verify Transflo scanning is current, and manage OJT, onboarding checklist reviews, and performance reviews. Monitor driver turnover ratios, budgeted driver counts, profile accuracy, and schedules while reporting on surveys. Collaborate with HR and safety regional managers on corrective actions and compliance occurrences. Work within established policies and procedures, communicating with internal and external customers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work with interruptions and deadlines
- Must be able to effectively interact with internal and external customers
- Ability to follow established policies and procedures of the company
- Knowledge of Federal DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations
- Must be able to exercise independent judgement
- Ability to direct and manage employees and contractors
- Flexibility in scheduled hours and days worked
- Occasional weekend work and non-business hours availability
- Occasional travel to other service centers as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 years' experience in the direct management of personnel
- Bulk transportation experience
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Management experience
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to foster proactive communication
- Ability to manage day-to-day activities within the service center
- Ability to communicate with internal and external customers
