Job Summary
Operate company vehicles to transport goods according to assigned routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while verifying cargo against documents and securing loads to prevent damage. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, maintain clean and operational vehicles, and use GPS tools to navigate effectively. Obtain proof of delivery, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates or delays to the Operations team. Provide professional customer service and assist with loading and unloading as required. Work within Lagos with potential travel outside the city, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. May require overtime, weekend, or holiday work based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record
- 2–5 years of professional driving experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or courier services
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance
- Ability to read delivery notes and complete basic documentation
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and mobile applications
- Safe driving and defensive driving practices
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Strong time management and route planning abilities
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and integrity
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and able to load and unload goods
- Ability to meet delivery deadlines
- Willingness and ability to travel outside Lagos when required for business operations
- Must be available for overtime, weekend, or public holiday work based on operational needs
