Job Summary
Driver In Training program to learn operation of a box truck up to 26 ft with classroom, parking-lot, and on-the-road training. After successful completion, participants are offered a full-time driver position. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm or until deliveries are completed with rotating half-day Saturdays; overtime may be required. Responsibilities include learning to drive, completing 10-20 deliveries per day, maintaining logs and records, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, lifting 50 lbs consistently (up to 80 lbs), assisting in loading/unloading (team lifts or mechanical aids), operating equipment (forklift pallet jacks, order pickers) when needed, working 8-12 hours/day, delivering to customers with safety and punctuality, communicating with customers and management, and collecting payments. Benefits include competitive wage starting at $19.50/hour with $1.50 raise after program completion, weekly bonus, health benefits from day one, 401(k) with match, vacation/sick time, and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds consistently and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
- Ability to exert a pushing force of up to 40 pounds
- Ability to follow instructions and safe operating procedures
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test
- Valid DOT Medical Card per DOT/FMCSA guidelines
