Job Summary
Drive trucks over 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations, hauling Class I through Class III cargo. Load and unload trucks while ensuring cargo security, and inspect equipment including tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Operate all CAT equipment and prepare receipts for load pickup. Maintain truck logs according to state and federal regulations. Work with customers and vendors while following directions, requiring a CDL license, clear driving record, and ability to make independent decisions. Work extended periods, travel up to 100%, and pass a work-related pre-employment physical.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one (1) year certificate from college or technical school
- One year of related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- CDL driver's license
- clear driving record
- Ability to work effectively with tools and equipment
- Ability to make accurate independent decisions, perform duties and make judgments in a timely manner
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences and memos
- Ability to effectively apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Successfully complete Work Steps assessment
- Must be able to pass work related pre-employment physical demands
- Must be able to operate all CAT equipment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to drive for extended periods of time
- Required travel up to 100%
- Must be flexible in work schedule
