Job Summary
Driver I delivers products from the local warehouse to customers along a defined route, prioritizing on-time, accurate, and safe deliveries. Responsibilities include planning delivery activities, printing loading tickets, delivering merchandise per schedule, using a hand-held device to capture customer signatures, supporting warehouse tasks as needed (loading, stocking, pulling), conducting daily vehicle inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting repairs, escalating customer issues and policy violations, and collaborating with the sales team to ensure efficient service. Requires adherence to safety and DOT/CDL regulations (if applicable) and the ability to operate delivery equipment and lift up to 40 pounds; overtime may be available. The role is based in Chicago, IL with full-time hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- 1-2 years experience with box truck driving (GVW 14,500–26,000 lbs)
- Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations (if applicable)
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment
- Physical ability to move and lift up to 40 pounds, and operate power equipment
- Experience using hand-held device to capture signatures on deliveries
- Detail-oriented, able to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to deliver multiple routes daily with on-time performance
