Job Summary
Assist the driver in delivering customer orders, loading and off-loading product at customer facilities, and driving a pilot vehicle for oversize loads. Secure product onto delivery vehicles using material handling equipment and obtain signed proof of delivery. Inspect and maintain delivery vehicles to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Plan and pace work efficiency to meet daily, weekly, and project productivity goals while observing all safety procedures. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently, and experience performing similar tasks. Works in all weather conditions and rides in trucks delivering product to customers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- one (1) year experience performing these or similar tasks
- equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- Valid driver's license
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and understand maps, routes, road signs
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to read and understand machine and equipment diagrams and system schematics
- Knowledgeable of escort service regulations
- Knowledge of basic math and measurement skills
- Knowledge of and ability to use motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to climb up and down into cab
- Must be able to twist torso for 360 degree visibility
- Must be able to use arms to operate controls
- Must be able to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling
- Must be able to work in all types of weather
