Job Summary
Driver with full-time EMS role responsible for providing and directing Basic Life Support and emergency medical services. Duties include EMS patient assessment and care, operating emergency vehicles, documenting patient information, maintaining equipment, directing first responders at scenes, and continuous education to maintain certifications. Must hold EMR licensure, CPR for Health Care Providers, and Emergency Driving Certification; strong knowledge of local area and emergency protocols; capable of leadership and professional communication with medical staff and the public.
Required Qualifications
- EMR Licensure
- CPR for the Health Care Provider
- Emergency Driving Certification with ongoing driving training
- Good knowledge of street systems, addresses and physical layout of the area
- Knowledge of rescue equipment and emergency medical equipment used in Basic Life Support
- Ability to perform technical medical skills with accuracy
- Ability to deal with emotional and medical needs of victims
- Maintain professional and objective approach to care
- Learn new concepts in rescue and medical skills
- Perform maintenance of rescue and medical equipment
- Direct and teach other personnel
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Maintain professional attitude when representing the Company
- Establish and maintain relationships with employees and public
- Drive and operate emergency ambulance units
- Author reports with narrative and numeric information
- Maintain continuing education to meet state requirements
