Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents: a two-person, on-campus role for legally married couples, living in student homes to supervise and guide 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, medication administration, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as Placed Houseparents in a single student home. On-site housing, meals on duty, and comprehensive benefits are provided; relocation assistance and paid training are included. Requires experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid U.S. driver's license capable of driving student vans. Both spouses must participate in separate applications and meet age and marriage duration requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
