Job Summary
Schedule and deliver weekly Driver Z instruction to high school students in classroom and/or in-car settings while establishing an open learning environment. Facilitate discussions, coach students on program material, and use Driver Education software to monitor progress, enter data, grade assignments, and administer written tests and vision screenings. Collaborate with the Driver Education team and maintain a driver training vehicle if required. This role requires a valid Manitoba Class 5F driver's licence, a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, and completion of the Manitoba Driving Instructor Training course. Applicants must be Manitoba residents with three years of driving experience and be comfortable working evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Be a resident of Manitoba
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of experience with a valid full stage Class 5 or equivalent driver's licence, issued within Canada or the United States
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage schedules independently
- Comfortable with daily use of technology, such as emails and online applications
- Must be able to work shift work (evenings, and weekends)
- Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Hold a valid Manitoba Class 5F driver's licence in good standing
- Qualify for and complete the Manitoba Driving Instructor Training course for class 5 vehicles
- Maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driving Instructor permit
- Maintain a valid Driver Training School and Training Vehicle permit, if required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience facilitating training/workshops in large group settings is preferred
- Experience teaching or coaching youth is preferred
- Professional driving experience is an asset
