Driver Education Instructors 2026 - Rural Manitoba

Job Summary

Schedule and deliver weekly Driver Z instruction to high school students in classroom and/or in-car settings within Rural Manitoba. Establish an open learning environment by facilitating discussions, coaching students on program material, and using software to monitor progress, enter data, and grade assignments. Administer written tests and vision screenings as required while maintaining a driver training vehicle. Collaborate with the Driver Education team and manage workload independently. Must reside in Manitoba, hold a valid Class 5F license, and complete the Driving Instructor Training course. Work evening and weekend shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Be a resident of Manitoba
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience with a valid full stage Class 5 or equivalent driver's licence, issued within Canada or the United States
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage schedules independently
  • Comfortable with daily use of technology, such as emails and online applications
  • Must be able to work shift work (evenings, and weekends)
  • Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Hold a valid Manitoba Class 5F driver's licence in good standing
  • Maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driving Instructor permit or qualify for and complete the Manitoba Driving Instructor Training course for class 5 vehicles
  • Maintain a valid Driver Training School and Training Vehicle permit, if required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating training/workshops in large group settings is preferred
  • Experience teaching or coaching youth is preferred
  • Professional driving experience is an asset

Additional Requirements

  • Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check as part of the recruitment process
  • Hold a valid Manitoba Class 5F driver’s licence in good standing
  • Maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driving Instructor permit or qualify for and complete the Manitoba Driving Instructor Training course for class 5 vehicles
  • Must be able to work shift work (evenings, and weekends)
