Job Summary
Deliver food and run errands under supervision, transport designated individuals/groups to needed programs/services, and perform light maintenance, repair, and cleaning duties at designated sites. Adhere to local traffic laws, load/unload safely, maintain order and safety procedures for passengers, inspect vehicle for safe operation, request maintenance as needed, and may transport clients and staff. The role requires safe operation of the organization vehicle, compliance with food handling requirements (such as temperature logs), flexibility in hours, and sensitivity to cultural diversity. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and a FBI/BCI background check is required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have high school degree or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for the State of Ohio with less than two points on his/her driving record, a CDL license is a plus.
- Must be able to safely and competently operate vehicle.
- Must be able to supervise passenger conduct according to recommended procedures.
- Must be able to give and to follow good verbal and written instructions.
- Must conduct self in appropriate and safe manner.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Must have an awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served.
- Will be able to pass a FBI/BCI background check.
- Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and ability to climb and descend stairs independently while transporting supplies, equipment, and/or food.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
