Job Summary
Operate gas, diesel, and propane buses for end deliveries to schools and other entities, performing pre-trip inspections and observing all federal, state, and local safety regulations. Obtain timesheets with route locations and report emergency conditions or accidents immediately to the Shop, police, or ambulance services as needed. Deliver buses on-time to customers within a flexible daytime schedule, Monday through Friday, working as-needed on an as-needed basis with sporadic availability ranging from three to five days during summer months. This role supports Central States Bus Sales, the largest Blue Bird School Bus dealer in the country.
Required Qualifications
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age with excellent driving record, verified through the state Motor Vehicle Department
- Must pass DOT physical, drug/alcohol screening and other required tests and be able to comply with all other DOT guidelines
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Must be friendly and customer oriented
- Must be able to work independently and be able to complete work on schedule
- Must have adequate physical strength to maneuver the bus
