Job Summary
Drive delivery vehicles to transport building materials to customer sites, operating crane or boom equipment for loading and unloading heavy construction items. Rig, plan, and hoist materials while calculating boom capacities, weights, and clearances to prevent damage to structures or the truck. Inspect and maintain crane/boom equipment and delivery vehicles for safety and regulatory compliance. Address customer issues, resolve outstanding delivery problems, and maintain logs of deliveries, mileage, and weights. Plan work efficiency to meet productivity goals and observe all safety procedures. Requires a valid CDL, Boom or Crane Operator certification, and DOT medical card.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Two (2) years driving experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience operating a Boom or Crane
- Valid CDL license
- At least 21 years old
- Boom or Crane Operator certification
- DOT medical card
- Less than five moving violations in the past five years
- Knowledge of safety procedures while performing driving and materials handling tasks
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and understand maps, routes, road signs
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out route assignment
- Ability to read and understand machine and equipment diagrams and system schematics
- Knowledge of basic math and measurement skills
- Must have a CDL license and comply with all state and federal regulations
- Must have a Boom or Crane Operator certification
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently
- Must be able to lift and carry, with assistance, up to 200 pounds on occasion
- Must be able to physically operate crane equipment (climb up and down into cab, twist torso for 360-degree visibility, use arms to operate controls, etc.)
