Job Summary
Operate commercial motor vehicles transporting manufactured metal products from production facilities to customer and vendor locations in Colorado Springs. Load and unload trucks independently using a pallet jack, verify load accuracy against invoices, and secure cargo with approved devices. Conduct pre and post trip inspections, complete DVIRs, maintain Hours of Service logs, and utilize Electronic Logging Devices. Submit bills of lading and proof of delivery documentation while ensuring vehicle cleanliness and reporting delays, mechanical issues, or accidents immediately. Comply with all FMCSA and DOT regulations, including drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum six (6) years driving experience
- Valid Colorado CDL Class A
- Air Brakes endorsement
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record meeting insurability standards
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Background check
- MVR check
- Drug screen
- Knowledge of DOT transportation regulations
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Customer service and communication skills
- Time management and route planning ability
- Comply with all FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse regulations
- Report all accidents, citations, injuries, or vehicle damage immediately
- Cooperate with accident investigations and insurance reviews
- Operate vehicles equipped with GPS and telematics systems
- Must be able to operate vehicles in inclement weather where snow chains are required
