Job Summary
Driver responsible for safely transporting meals to homebound older adults, assisting clients in and out of vehicles, maintaining vehicle safety and cleaning, supporting meal packaging and program operations, and maintaining required records. Will perform vehicle maintenance tasks, ensure safety during deliveries, monitor client well-being, report incidents to supervisors, and contribute to center operations. Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (35 hours/week); role supports Home Delivered Meals Program at JASA in Brooklyn, NY with emphasis on reliable, compassionate service and adherence to safety procedures. Requires valid NY CDL/driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and strong English communication skills. Per diem weekday schedule with nonprofit community impact.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of driving experience
- Valid New York State Class A, B, or CDL Driver’s License
- Clean driving record
- No more than one moving violation in past two years
- No DUI or DWI in past eight years
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Ability to climb stairs and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work with older adults respectfully
