Job Summary
Conduct bulk and packaged deliveries of liquid and dry chemical materials using Class 8 tractors, including loading, offloading, and securing products with pumps and air equipment. Execute proper documentation, daily logs, and pre-inspections while complying with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag safety standards for hazardous and non-hazardous substances. Operate dock locks, forklifts, and pallet jacks to manage in-plant movements, customer/vendor deliveries, and inter-company transfers. Maintain assigned equipment, including ELDs and tracking units, and communicate delivery instructions with supervisors. Requires a Class A CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and Hazmat endorsements, current DOT medical card, and willingness to work overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience
- Must meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment
- Class A CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat Endorsement
- Current DOT medical card
- Current TWIC card or show proof of application in process
- Ability to drive a manual transmission
- Certification to operate pallet jacks (electric or manual)
- Certification to operate a forklift and applicable accessories (if required by location)
- Ability to operate dock locks, dock levelers, and additional applicable equipment for delivery/pickup of material
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Detail and customer oriented with good organizational skills
- Ability to read, comprehend and conduct detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara)
- Must reside local to area (within sixty miles)
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must pass E-verify check
- Must pass a pre-employment DOT fit-for-duty exam
- Must be able to sit and drive for long hours
- Must be able to step into and out of equipment safely
- Must be able to stage, move, set up, operate, and break down equipment while performing loading/delivery tasks
- Lifting ability up to 75 pounds
- Frequently pushes, pulls, or moves up to 150 pounds
- Must be able to wear a respirator (if required for role) and all other personal protective equipment
- Must be able to load and unload hazardous material
- Must be able to climb ladder
- Must possess facial hair that does not interfere with a respirator (if PFT requirements to wear a respirator apply)
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience
- Minimum of 3 years commercial truck driving experience
- Certification from Accredited Commercial Driving Academy
- Prior experience in working with chemical delivery
