Job Summary
Aggregate Truck Driver responsible for transporting aggregates from rock quarries and gravel pits to various locations and customer job sites, primarily driving a Dump Truck and Pup Trailer. Ensures safety in compliance with OSHA/MSHA and DOT requirements; conducts pre/post trip inspections; operates tarp mechanisms; adheres to hours of service; communicates effectively in public road, yard, and job-site environments; reads policies and uses GPS/maps; maintains vehicle condition and performs basic mechanical tasks. Requires 18+, High School diploma or GED, Class A CDL, Medical Card, 1–2 years related experience or equivalent, ability to work nights/weekends/holidays when needed, and strong safety and teamwork orientation. Includes sit/stand/move requirements and exposure to outside weather and industrial conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in building materials/construction industry preferred
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Must report to the plant dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time
- Must have and maintain a valid Class A CDL (commercial driver’s license)
- Must have and maintain a valid Medical Card as per DOT requirements
- Regular and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays when necessary
- Ability to utilize a tablet for time keeping, training and other items
- Demonstrate a hands-on, collaborative approach; work well in a team and independently
- Ability to read and comprehend policies, instructions, plant site maps, city street maps and other GPS based equipment information
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic math skills required
- Demonstrated ability to take guidance and direction from a supervisor
