Job Summary
Deliver assigned loads of aggregates to designated plants and drive to assigned quarries to pick up materials. Enter trip times and meal breaks on logs, input work locations into GPS for efficient routing, and confirm bin material before unloading to prevent contamination. Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety checks, manually operate valves to offload aggregates, and maintain a clean vehicle on company time. Comply with all federal, state, and local vehicle codes and regulations while working independently to make sound decisions regarding environmental conditions and customer requests. Report vehicle malfunctions and job-related accidents immediately. This full-time position requires a California Class A permit with doubles/triples endorsements and the ability to work a rotating schedule including overtime.
Required Qualifications
- California Class A permit with doubles/triples endorsements
- No DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years
- Ability to undergo and complete our Company's driver training program
- Ability to drive a manual 10-speed transmission truck
- Must be available 6 days a week
- Must be available to work overtime as needed
- Must be able to work independently and without direct supervision
- Must be able to make decisions about the severity of variable situations
- Must be able to evaluate the most appropriate response to variable situations
- Must be able to make appropriate decisions related to environmental conditions
- Must be able to make appropriate decisions related to customer requests
- Must be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle operational and safety checks
- Must be able to prompt report any vehicle malfunctions
- Must be able to visually inspect trailers to check for appropriate levels of aggregates
- Must be able to use critical thinking skills to interpret information
- Must be able to make sound decisions based on available information
- Must be able to evaluate situations and requirements to plan and adjust work accordingly
- Must be able to add and subtract
- Must be able to multiply and divide
- Must be able to perform these operations using units of American money
- Must be able to perform these operations using weight measurement
- Must be able to perform these operations using volume
- Must be able to perform these operations using distance
