Job Summary
Supervise and oversee daily drilling and workover rig operations for land rigs performing programmed activities on deep or critical wells ranging from 18,000 to 23,000 feet. Ensure all rig personnel, contractors, and service providers comply with Saudi Aramco safety standards, approved programs, and contractual obligations. Monitor contractor performance, review daily tour reports, and coordinate delivery of well materials and equipment. Serve as the primary liaison between the company and drilling/workover contractors while making recommendations for alternative methods during challenging situations. Work closely with Drilling and Workover Engineers to ensure modern practices are followed and that rig equipment is properly maintained to minimize downtime. This role requires a 28 days on / 28 days off rotational schedule with 12-hour workdays in remote locations and mobile camps. Candidates must possess strong well control knowledge, including Blowout Prevention (BOP) standards, and experience supervising crews and service providers.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 13 years of relevant experience in drilling and workover operations, including supervisory experience on a drilling or workover rig
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in land drilling and workover operations, preferably involving deep or critical wells
- Strong experience in supervising drilling rig crews, contractors, and service providers
- Good knowledge of well control operations and Blowout Prevention (BOP) standards, including equipment configuration, testing, and crew response
- Strong understanding of Saudi Aramco safety standards, HSE requirements, and drilling/workover procedures
- Willingness to work in remote locations and mobile camps on a 28 days on / 28 days off rotational schedule, working 12 hours per day
